Watching the wheels.

Song in my head this morning:

"Watching the Wheels" by John Lennon

I have the Double Fantasy album at home, and I doubt that I am the only one that thinks most of the Lennon songs are excellent and most of the Ono songs are crap. My only problem is that my copy is on vinyl, so when it gets to a song I can't stand, I can't easily skip to the next one.

Bush gets Gored.

I just watched Al Gore's endorsement speech for Barack Obama, and I have to tell you that I don't remember this Al Gore from the 2000 campaign. He just delivered a scathing attack on Bush, calling Bush's presidency "eight years of incompetence, neglect and failure."

If Al Gore was like this in 2000, I have no doubt he'd be president today and the world would be a lot different. The guy has nothing to lose now - he is not running for office, he says what he means, and he is incredibly genuine. I endorse Obama and he certainly will get my vote, but watching Gore made me miffed that he isn't running this time, and even more pissed off that he was screwed out of the election in 2000. It also made me hopeful that sometime in the next nine years we will see him run again.
