Not as funny as I thought.

The whole Britney-is-bald thing was a lot sadder thing than I thought. My apologies. I posted that when it was a fresh news story. It has evolved since then into a more tragic tale.

Britney's bald, dude.

Bald Brit

This is entertaining as hell. I hope she turns into the baldest, most militant feminist in the States. It's more likely, though, that she's drunk on Nyquil and out doing something stupid.

I really like train wrecks like this. Sad, but true. It's the same reason I can't stop watching To Catch a Predator.

New music, the death of a DVR, and Lost.

The Yeltsins

I have been downloading music like a madman lately. How did I not know there was a new P.J. Harvey album out, even if it is just a collection of John Peel sessions? How did I not know about The Good, the Bad & the Queen? Why does a band as good as Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin have such an unfortunately unmarketable name? These questions, and more, have been rolling around my empty head as of late.

I added a segment in the right column of my blog last week of the last few albums I've gotten. On one hand, it helps me remember what new stuff is in my iTunes, and I figure it's also a way to expose both of my readers to what I'm listening to. Because, hey - you might like the stuff.

In other news, our DVR died last night right at the end of The Office. This was quite unfortunate, as I had just rewound live TV to re-watch Toby's hilarious reaction to his new girlfriend kissing him (he looked in the camera and said simply: "TO-BAY"). Anyway, the screen just kind of froze, and a few seconds later, the cable box shut down completely. I tried to reboot it, then I unplugged it and tried to restart it - nothing. DOA. So today I had to exchange it at the cable place. Unfortunately, this means we lost all the stuff we had recorded. I'm three episodes behind on Friday Night Lights, so I'm downloading those now to watch on my computer. Janelle records Big Day - a hilarious show on ABC that is doomed to be cancelled just like Sons & Daughters was last year. I have to find that somewhere online as well. Good thing we watched the new episode of Lost live.

For those of you that forgot about Lost, and it was easy to do with it disappearing from TV for months without even a single repeat, you may have forgotten how...well, bland it was becoming. Each subsequent episode last fall seemed to wow me a bit less, and the focus kept going back to the Sawyer-Kate-Jack love triangle, which I couldn't give two bits about. But now - now, man - the show is back. Fierce. We're starting to find out more about The Others, and there was a great flashback of Juliet and how she got onto the island - three years before the plane crashed. And, Alex is back. And boy, do I like Alex.
